DISC HERNIATIONS
Understanding the Condition
Disc herniation occurs when the soft inner gel of a spinal disc bulges or ruptures through a tear in the outer ring of the disc called the annulus fibrosis. This can irritate nearby nerves and result in pain, numbness, or weakness in an arms or legs.
Benefits of Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic treatment may include spinal manipulation to reduce nerve irritation and improve range of motion. It can also involve modalities such as non surgical spinal decompression therapy, which gently stretches the spine and helps herniated discs to heal by rehydrating the discs.
COMMON CAUSES
Physical strain such as heavy lifting, especially with twisting or turning, can cause herniation.
OUR PROCESS
1
Consultation
Firstly we will conduct an in depth investigation to understand what you're experiencing and what could be contributing to your discomfort.
2
Examination
We assess your spine and neurological health using specialized tests.
3
Posture Analysis
To assess how your everyday posture could be contributing to the pain.
4
Surface EMG
Non-invasive tests to assess areas of tension in your neck.
5
Thermography
To assess areas of inflammation that could be causing pain.
6
Imaging
If your case requires further investigation like x-ray or an MRI we obtain diagnostic imaging.
